You guys. I'm getting a complex. First, my dorm gets torn down about 6 years ago to make room for the new dorms on campus. I get it, really. DT was nasty. Fine. But my grandmother's dorm (Amanda Knight Hall) is still standing! Now that's just wrong for hers to outlast mine.
Then I just read that as part of the MTC expansion, the Wymount building Matt and I (and Ben and Steph) lived in will be torn down to make room for the new BYU laundry and auxiliary services buildings.
I always pictured myself driving my kids past DT and Wymount to show them the first places I lived at BYU as a single student and as a married student. I'm sure they won't really care that much (I don't think the warm fuzzies I feel when I drive by will transfer to them anyway), but it is hard to say goodbye to places with such good feelings.
And with that, I leave you with some throwback pictures to some of the good days on campus (can you tell I've been feeling too nostalgic to come up with anything else to post about?!):
Loved this throwback! What fun memories! A and I went around once and took pictures of a lot of the places around Provo that meant something to us. So glad we did because who knows what will get torn down next! Campus has changed so much just in the time since we've been there it is crazy! Also crazy, 10 years ago we were in our summer vacation before a lot of us became roommates at Regency. Weird!
ReplyDeleteWe are officially old.
DeleteLook at us! Thanks for all these old pictures!!! It makes me feel like we need a roommate reunion! I feel sad about my freshman housing being torn down, too, but I'm also kinda jealous of the gorgeous new dorms. That's probably where our kids will make some of their BYU memories :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting these. So so many fun memories! I seriously count my blessings that all of our paths crossed in college. My life is better for knowing all of you!
ReplyDeleteThose were great times! Love you guys!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! It is so weird to be up on campus now, everything is so different. And I feel so old. I don't think of myself as old in my everyday life, but when I am around 20 year olds, then I feel old!
